mySafetyAssistant Captures Media Attention

While on a Habitat for Humanity build site on Monday, June 21, 2010, president and CEO of mySafetyAssistant Theo Kowalchuk was interviewed by Shaw TV, CTV, CBC, and CityTV. The interviews showcased the various features and applications of the state-of-the-art web-based Safety Management System.
mySafetyAssistant (mSA) allows volunteers to complete a portion of their safety training online in the comfort of their own home. Every second or third slide includes an interactive slide, which keeps the volunteer engaged in the training. mySafetyAssistant was designed to make sure that anyone that uses mSA will actually absorb the information and will stay safe at work. Aside from online training, mSA acts as your own personal safety professional providing you with records and documents such as safety talks, hazard alerts, and much more.
Habitat for Humanity has implemented mySafetyAssistant as their mandatory safety training. Before any voluntary construction work can start, all volunteers must complete safety training with mySafetyAssistant.

Driven by our passion to make sure all volunteers return home safe at the end of each day, and
provide the folks at Habitat for Humanity with peace of mind, the team at 1 Life Workplace Safety & Health spearheaded the organization of safety practitioners to monitor the build for the week. The objective was to be on the lookout for volunteer safety and compliance with Manitoba workplace safety and health requirements.
To date 1 Life Workplace Safety and Health has provided more than 40 Workplace Safety Orientations to various workgroups and individuals participating in the 2009 build season.
