Community Involvement.

Giving back is a core value of 1 Life Workplace Safety and Health and the company will continue striving to find originations where they can make a real difference.

Currently the company has been involved with Habitat for Humanity for the past 3 years, conducting free training of their supervisors and crew leaders, on site safety inspections and consultations, and assisting with the development and implementation of their safety management system.  In 2009 1 Life Workplace Safety and Health Ltd. organized a team of safety professionals to help monitor the safe completion of the "Blitz Build" where over 200 volunteers were working each day to build 11 houses!

In 2006, president, Theo Kowalchuk volunteered her professional safety management skills for 12 months at the global headquarters of the hospital charity Mercy Ships as the Assistant Safety Manager, Marine Operations.  Mercy Ships deliver world class hospital care to the poorest nations of the world through a fleet of hospital ships.

Theo also holds a volunteer position as the executive Vice President of the Canadian Society of Safety Engineers, Manitoba Chapter and sits on the AED Guidelines Committee of the Heart and Stroke Association of Manitoba.
