Course Content: Applicable Legislation/Regulations, responsibilities, classification of controlled products, restricted consumer products, exemptions, requirements for labels, content, purpose and use of Material Safety Data Sheets, training requirements.
Course Content: Why hazard awareness is criticle to workplace safety, important aspects of the Manitoba WSH legislation regarding hazard identification and control, what causes workplace incidents and their “Real Cost” to Employers and Workers, types of hazards, Spot the Hazard!, methods of control, the importance of reporting hazards and near misses.
Course content: rights, responsibilities and accountability for safety and health , the benefits of a Safety Management System, how to report concerns and the right to refuse dangerous work, the importance of reporting hazards, near misses and incidents, purpose and function of your Workplace Safety & Health Committee or Representative, requirements for Personal Protective Equipment, requirements for working with hazardous materials , basic emergency procedures, the requirements for training in Safe Work Procedures, basic safety rules.
